Girls Participate in Teen Pageant in Greensboro
Two local girls, Meredith Potter and Sullivan Williams participated in the Miss Teen of North Carolina Scholarship and Recognition Pageant on July 29-31. Both won awards in different areas of the pageant, with Potter chosen as first runner-up and Williams receiving an award in personallity projection and poise in formal wear.
The Miss Teen of N.C. Pageant is not all about glitz and glamour. Each contestant is selected based on academic achievements and community service. Every candidate is scored in six areas of competition including: scholastic record, achievement and service to school and community, personal development of talent and skills, general written awareness test, personality projection in formal wear, and judge’s interview.
Meredith Potter, 14, of Pinehurst, is the daughter of Andy Potter.
Sullivan Williams, also 14, of Eagle Springs and a student at Pinecrest High School, competed in all categories of the event and performed a ballet piece as her talent. She studies classical dance at Carolina Performing Arts Center. She is the daughter of Greg and Charlotte Williams. |
