Terry Riney Agency Moves to New Office

Terry Riney Agency, an independent insurance agency in Moore County, has moved into a new office.

In March, Terry Riney bought the John McLure Insurance Agency, which was at 131 Ampersand Road, just south of the Food Lion grocery center. For the past few months, Riney has been remodeling what used to be the Pinehurst Produce and Plants building at 1604 N.C. 5.

“We did a total renovation,” Riney said. “The building was set up for their fruit business, and I’m sure it functioned very well for them, but we needed offices, so we had some work to do.”

Brian Clodfelter’s Rhetson Construction handled the remodeling work.

The Riney Agency has become a family affair with the addition of both his wife and son, Nancy and Blaine. Both are licensed insurance agents.

“This added staff is going to allow us to continue to grow and provide the level of service all our clients deserve,” Terry Riney said.

Riney and his wife, Nancy, moved to Pinehurst in November 2003 from Liberal, Kan., where Terry had own-ed and operated a family independent ins-urance agency for more that 30 years. Their son Blaine followed a short time later.

“This business gets in your blood and becomes a part of your life,” Terry Riney said. “I’ve really enjoyed getting to know and understand the insurance business in North Carolina. Insurance differs from state to state, so its been a challenge.

“With our new location and office facility, we’re now ready to take this agency to the next level and provide all our clients a wide variety of options when it comes to insurance buying.

The Riney Agency writes all types of property and casualty insurance, including home, auto and business coverages.

It also offers life insurance and investments for most any situation.
