The Board of Directors elected Archbold on Aug. 31. Her term began Aug. 31 and will end on Sept. 13, 2005.
David Dille-hunt, vice president of information systems and chief information officer for FirstHealth of the Carolinas in Pinehurst, was elected to a three-year term on the board.
Archbold is the strategy and change healthcare executive with IBM’s Business Consulting Services practice. She has been with IBM for 27 years and has had a varied career in technical sales, development, and strategy development.
In 1991, she joined IBM Consulting and has focused on the health-care industry for the last 12 years. She has been recognized with major awards for her solutions to difficult business problems, and is a frequent speaker on the fusion of business and technology and creating differentiating strategies to achieve business success.
She received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Archbold discussed her goals for the coming year during NCHICA’s annual conference and exhibition in Asheville. She would like to see the organization forge stronger statewide relationships, demonstrate collaborative initiatives, increase its educational focus, and expand its membership.
“The national health-care leadership has declared this the ‘Decade of Health’ and there are numerous initiatives under way throughout the country to improve healthcare through information technology,” she said. “NCHICA has a broad membership of health industry stakeholders, a proven track record of successful demonstration projects, and the technical expertise needed to support the complexities of integration.
“We are very well positioned to support the national agenda through our collaborative initiatives.”
