Although this team steers the shop, they are supported by a crew of more than 70 volunteers who unpack, sort, clean, price, display, and sell the gently used household goods and clothing that are donated by the community.
During its 20 plus years in operation, the Thrift Shop has donated more than a half-million dollars to various charities throughout Moore County.
The Whispering Pines Thrift Shop is on N.C. 22 at the corner of Ray’s Bridge Road, 1.2 miles north of the airport. It is open for donations of clothing, books, and household items on Monday and Tuesday from 9 am to noon.
The shop is open for customers on Wednesday through Saturday from 10 am to 4 p.m.
