The Mustangs won the match in four games by scores of 25-17, 25-19, 23-25 and 25-22.
They also ripped off their seventh consecutive win, all in the conference.
“We seemed to be a little slow reacting in the games tonight,” Mustang coach Alana Pennington said following the match. “We’ll be practicing again tomorrow, preparing for our match with West Davidson on Thursday.”
North Moore was scheduled to play the conference leading team, West Davidson, at Lexington on Thursday night. West Davidson, last year’s conference champion, is the only team to have defeated the Mustangs this season. It was after losing to West Davidson that North Moore went on its winning streak.
Leading the attack for North Moore against East Montgomery were Melissa Powers, with five service winners and four kills at the net, Kristin Brown, with three service winners and five kills at the net and Ashley Alexander, with two service winners and four kills at the net.
Jessica McLeod contributed four service winners, and Ashley Marley had five kills at the net for the Mustangs.
The Mustangs’ record improved to 8-1 for the season with the win, and 7-1 in the conference.
