Staples Inc. operates more than 1,300 office superstores worldwide, including 31 in North Carolina. The Southern Pines store is located at 290 Turner St., off U.S. 15-501 next to Wal-Mart.
The new superstore is designed to offer customers convenient, one-stop shopping for business needs. Staples carries thousands of office products, business machines, the latest computer technology products, office furniture and teaching supplies.
“Staples has everything in stock for small businesses, home offices and students in Southern Pines,” said Jeff Ellis, the general manager of the new store. “We offer great selection, the latest technology and superior customer service.”
In January, Staples rolled out Staples.com Access Points in all of its U.S. retail stores. The new Southern Pines store will have four Access Points to provide customers with product information and a variety of business services, including payroll processing, telecommunications and marketing.
Staples is the first office supply superstore to offer customers the option to pay for online purchases by cash, check or credit at the store’s registers, according to a company news release.
The new store has a copy center for on-site copying and printing services. The center provides commercial-grade, high-speed and color copying, as well as self-serve copiers with customer workspace. Staples also offers full finishing services, such as laminating and binding.
Customers will also find a business technology area with services for computer upgrades, software installations and consultation. Staples can add memory and upgrade computers in-store with a guaranteed turnaround time of 72 hours or less.
The store will officially celebrate its grand opening Saturday, Sept. 29. Staples will offer deeply discounted prices on many items that day.
