Right About Sorenstam

Kudos and a hole-in-one for Stan Hunt and his column on Annika Sorenstam. He has spoken for the many who have held their tongues on this subject. Now it is over — or is it? Martha Burk now has to find another target.

Our Donna Andrews, at a recent dinner, addressed this problem, suggesting that Sorenstam be given the opportunity to challenge her ability. I believe that the LPGA has a rule that prohibits men from playing in its tournaments. If so, where are you, Ms. Burk? Then, too, Andrews is now president of the LPGA, and perhaps should organize a Masters for women. They could award pink jackets.

And a Bogey to The Pilot for criticizing V.J. Singh for withdrawing. To throw a rock at someone who does not agree with the newspaper’s opinion earns the Bogey.

I wish Annika Sorenstam the very best. A great golfer who has stood up to the frenzy media like a lady. Let it rest.
