Base Is in Illinois

I really enjoyed “Here’s Your Story, Al” by Clark Cox (The Pilot, May 23).

The article mentions Great Lakes Naval Base in Michigan. Actually it is Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, Ill. The facility backs up to Lake Michigan, so that may have caused the confusion.
