Contact Your Commissioners

As a former member of the Moore County Board of Education, I would like to encourage the public to let the county commissioners know how they feel about the proposed 2003-2004 education budget.

Many parents have called me concerned because of the proposed cuts. They seem particularly concerned that no funds are allocated for technology again this year.

As I’ve explained to those callers, the school board’s responsibility is to let the public know what is needed for their children’s educational future. If the commissioners choose not to fund those needs, then their children will go without another year.

The county commissioners will be funding their priorities. I hope technology and raises for teacher assistants will be seen as priorities next year.

It’s your money, please let them know how you’d like it spent.
