Simplistic Thinking

After reading Walter Schoen’s column “ What Liberals Believe” in the May 16 issue of The Pilot, I have concluded it may be the best collection of old, worn-out and simplistic generalizations I have seen in some time. An opposing list of 45 items of “ What Conservatives Believe” could also quite easily be collected with equal superficial thinking. Life and politics are more complicated than applying labels to those with whom you disagree, and problem-solving is certainly not enhanced by such invective appellations.

Either The Pilot or Schoen finds it necessary to inform the reader he is the recipient of a Ph.D. I would suggest he retake several courses on critical thinking in order to complete his education.
