There are many these days who are of little faith. They are unbelievers or rather they believe in invention to be politically correct. For example it is stated that “there are thousands of relatives of innocent Iraqi civilians lost to smart bombing.” We have no evidence that thousands of Iraqis have been killed by smart bombs. Or that thousands of homes have been devastated by smart bombs or any other bombs, dumb or smart. These statements come from the talking heads on television who spout like a fountain that is politically correct.
Now let us step back in history a moment. During World War II, I led the Hell’s Angels, a heavy bomb group to bomb Berlin several times. We destroyed buildings and facilities, military and civilian, in what was then known as carpet bombing.
Five years later, I joined the Special Weapons Project with the job to marry the new tactical atomic bomb to an Air Force fighter-bomber. The job was done. An air division so equipped was deployed to Europe and the Far East. The Mark 7 tactical atomic bomb has never been used. It was available but remained on the rack. So it might be with the MOAB. In spite of that slight detour, I did not miss the Korean War. As a matter of fact, I did not miss Vietnam either.
The general mentioned by columnist Paul Dunn is a friend of mine, and he knows whereof he speaks. The smart bomb is just that, smart and accurate.
I suggest the unbelievers smell the roses.
