Part of the Community

Belle Meade is not all fun and games and gourmet dinners. Many residents chose to come here because of Life Care and the medical facilities.

Way back when we were Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, we learned to “Be Prepared,” a motto that has been useful all of our lives and eventually brought us to Belle Meade.

Hopefully, we will live in our homes and apartments forever, but when time brings problems the Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing facilities are a welcome option. Some of the residents are temporary patients, and when they have recovered they return to their homes and activities with praise for the care that they have received.

Transportation is another plus to those who can no longer drive their own cars. Residents may request a driver to take them to doctor and dentist appointments. There is also a bus which takes shoppers to different supermarkets every week.

When there is a choice to drive to the theater or to use the Belle Meade bus, many find the bus an easy solution. There are day trips planned and transportation makes it possible for many to participate.

In conclusion health facilities and transportation are considerations that have brought many to Belle Meade.

We will be busy this fall with bridge, croquet, computer classes, university lectures, swimming, and outings, but we will also reach out to the community as we volunteer in Hospice, FirstHealth, Shaw House, Weymouth, Women’s Exchange and more.

We at Belle Meade, definitely contribute to the Sandhills Community.
