The attempt by The Pilot to label our efforts as representing “Fortress Pinehurst” is ludicrous, as anyone who has heard our presentation can attest.

The Committee to Protect and Preserve the Sandhills Area was established to deal with the traffic problems of southern Moore County as a whole. Perhaps we should call any bypass, the Southern Moore County bypass.

This is not a “close the gates to Pinehurst” campaign and such rhetoric should not be introduced into the debate. Let’s stick to the facts.
