People Didn’t Speak Loudly
Your choice of a headline for a letter in the Oct. 7 edition of The Pilot, “The People Have Spoken,”, whether intentional or not, draws attention to the apathy of Moore County residents.
As I recall, on Sept. 10, something over 10 percent of registered residents voted for winners of the county commissioner races, something under 10 percent for the losers, and some 80 percent did not give a rip and did not vote.
We have heard victims of tyranny elsewhere in the world warn Americans that we are letting liberty slip through our fingers little by little. Possibly so. But an adjacent letter in the same issue of The Pilot suggests that it is time for good men and women to stand up and be counted.
What are your plans for Nov. 5, Moore County?
