Promotions Are in Order
For over 100 years African-Americans have worked in Pinehurst, providing the hard-toiling, ill-paid labor base that allowed the town to be built and still allows it to function.
There are African-Americans who have worked for more than 20 years in our Public Works Department –– good, honest, intelligent men. Why hasn’t one been promoted to a senior position in that department 36 years after federal law guaranteed them equal opportunity?
