Bad Behavior at School

Will Rogers said, “All I know is what I read in the newspaper,” and Mark Twain said, “Always tell the truth.” I read a lot during the recent governor’s campaigns, and some told the truth.

Both really rapped on education. The problem is getting kids to attend school. Years ago many of us had to walk miles to school. Now kids drive Cadillacs, Lincoln’s and Mercedes to school. Most cars are better than the teachers own.

Disgraceful is the fact that policemen must be at schools to control the students. School buses have to be monitored to keep unruly kids from fighting and diverting the driver’s attention. In some cases parents bribe their children to go to school. Maybe we should have a North Carolina parental guidance program.

Little Johnny, call your next case.
