Double Bogey by The Pilot
As one of the organizers of the Kid’s Block at Springfest, I read with dismay the Bogey in Friday’s Pilot referring to Kid’s Block and the $2 rides. As with other festivals of its kind, the crafters, food vendors and amusement vendors charge a fee for their products and services. The $2-per-ride fee is typical, reasonable and almost half what is charged at the State Fair and county fairs.

Additionally, our amusement vendors give a percentage of their profits back to the town. For The Pilot to suggest that the organizers of Springfest are over-charging children and their parents is untrue and unkind.
To all those who came to town on that beautiful spring day to shop with crafters, visit with family and friends, enjoy the local talent, fill up on fun food and drink or play with your kids and others on Kid’s Block — a big thank you! Not a bad way to support and strengthen your town.
To The Pilot, a Double Bogey for inconsiderate comments and lack of research.
