One of the things I like best about living in Southern Pines is the beautiful trails of the Weymouth Woods. I have recently made an amazing discovery on these trails, hoofmarks and huge amounts of horse droppings.

I know this evidence must have been left by wild horses because it is clearly posted that no horse riding is permitted in this wonderful area, and I am sure anyone intelligent enough to own and care for a horse can read the signs.

So I urge everyone who visits the park to keep a lookout in hopes of catching a glimpse of the wild horses of Weymouth.
