Local musicians deserve local support. We in the Sandhills are fortunate to have a wonderful climate, fabulous golf courses and lush pastures. We are also fortunate to have The Sunrise Theater offering fine theater, musical events and cinematic art.

We also have some of the most talented musicians, songwriters and performers in the state. These were on full display on the music stage set up for the recent Springfest in Southern Pines. However, they were unjustly ignored. Many of these performers are on the verge of regional and national careers and may serve as ambassadors to our fair domain proclaiming, “We got good in Southern Pines.” In order to establish Southern Pines as a center for musical style and class these musicians need and deserve local support. They should be talked about, noticed.
