Structure of Peace
This weekend my wife and I went to Falls Church, Va., to visit our daughter. She suggested that we visit the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial in Washington since we had not seen it yet.
When we reached the last phase of the FDR Memorial, the three of us were struck by a quotation, which I believe was from Eleanor Roosevelt at the time of the founding of the United Nations.
“The structure of world peace cannot be the work of one man or one nation. It must be of peace which rests on the cooperative efforts of the whole world.”
My daughter and I both commented at the same time, “I wish George would read and think about this.”
