Back to Basics
It seems that our schools are constantly asking for a bigger piece of the taxpayer’s pie. Now, their hope is to add computers to every classroom and to upgrade existing facilities.
Almost everyone is aware that our school’s education record does not compare well with other schools in the state or country.
Adding computers to classrooms and giving new furniture to administrators will do little to help our children read, write, add or subtract.
Rather than spend hard-earned taxpayer money on advanced technology, our schools should concentrate on the basics. School supplies, books and dedicated teachers should be the No. 1 priority.
Computers and new furniture should be considered only after our schools reach average.
