The Safest Bet

Mr. Davis, I am sorry that you feel that the Carolina Dinner Train (not Aberdeen Carolina and Western) will be adding another train ride to its weekend run.

I hope you understand that instead of feeling that the horn is noise pollution, you would realize that it is our best means of safety for oncoming or crossing traffic.

Our owner, Mr. Robert Menzies, has purchased a horn specifically for the Dinner Train that is not at the same level as freight train horns. He has done this in response to our friends and neighbors on the Dinner Train route.

As a business in Moore County, we look to only increase the amenities offered in this tourist-based area. Keep in mind, the railroads were here long before any houses or developments, the area developed around the railroad. With this thought in mind, just think what we would do without sirens on ambulances, police cars, or tornado warnings.

I hope I gave you a fair response to your concern, and I know that the Dinner Train will help to promote the well being of Moore County by being one of only six dinner trains of our type in the country.
