I am just dropping a note to comment on your article of Jan. 11 concerning housing in Moore County.

I am appalled at the conditions of housing and the lack of what I consider normal maintenance of roads and housing in these locations. While Moore County planning has entered the 20th century, the ordinances and enforcement concerning housing and trailer parks remain in the 18th century.

There is no excuse for the conditions that are found in the areas around Pinehurst, and while too many rules are abusive, certain conditions should be addressed by the county.

My observations are that some people hold money above human dignity and in spite of their wealth just walk around with blinders on.
