The Southern Pines Volunteer Fire and Rescue Fund-raiser will be starting on Feb. 15. Residents within the fire protection district of Southern Pines will be called. The person on the phone will ask you to make a pledge to our department. In return for the pledge, you will be given a portrait of you or your family. This portrait will be taken at the fire department, located at 160 Memorial Drive.

The funds raised during this period will be used to buy equipment needed by our department. The funds in the past have been used to purchase such items as: mass-casualty boxes, backboards, and an area light on our equipment truck.

The Southern Pines Fire and Rescue Department is a combination fire department consisting of both volunteers and staff members. Over the past year, the fire department responded to more than 1,000 calls for service.
