The Andy Thomas column of Jan. 20, is partially correct. However, the mass condemnation of the Midland Green project shows that it is the location that is wrong.
Location, Location, Location — that all important mantra. Midland Road is not the area for a shopping center of that type.
It may have the benefits he mentions, but here are equal and opposite ones also. A grocery store not needed may draw customers, but other stores will just see the customer less often. That can mean less help needed.
Midland Road does not need more left-turn lanes or a traffic light. Fewer crossovers would be better. Midland Green project wrong for that location.
