Why the Turnover?

There are three more members who have resigned from the Humane Society Executive Board, not to mention the executive director, Susan Rowe, who was so active and doing a great job.

I am amazed to read this in the paper. My question is why.

It is appalling to me that there is so much unrest on this board they cannot hold on to qualified, experienced people who would be dedicated to making a difference at the Humane Society. Is the leadership of this board too controlling and self-serving to tolerate new ideas or anyone who dares to question her?

Who is supposed to benefit from the Humane Society? Certainly it is the animals. Most certainly, it is not the members. The inside politics and bickering that leads good volunteers and staff to finally throw up their hands and quit does not sound like a unified board working for the good of the animals they have pledged to protect.

Perhaps those who donate money to this very good cause should question the leadership of this board as to why all these good people are resigning.
