Israel’s Noncompliance

I want to thank both Paul Dunn and The Pilot for opening the journalistic door to a subject that seems to have been consistently overlooked in the American media. Dunn wrote: “Were serious and repeated non-compliance a causus bellum, then the next nation to be warred against would be Israel.

It has disobeyed 75 United Nations resolutions, possesses weapons of mass destruction and has carried out a policy of assassination and brutal oppression of the Palestinians.”

This leads me to a couple of observations, both of them troubling. One, our government has no trouble indulging in hypocrisy in the pursuit of aims that are cloudy, at best and, two, the U.N. has become a forum of convenience depending on the cause to be pursued.

No wonder that there are so many other nations on this planet that view us with distrust and suspicion.

Mr. President, seeing as you are getting all worked up about a nation ignoring U.N. resolutions, how about giving Israel a 48-hour deadline? Surely they have been in violation of U.N. resolutions for much longer than Iraq.
