Patriot Harriers Crack Top 10 At Hagan Stone Classic Meet

The Pinecrest boys’ and girls’ cross country teams each finished sixth in the Hagan Stone Classic cross country meet held at Hagan Stone Park in Greensboro Saturday.

Thirty boys’ and 21 girls’ teams were entered in the event.

Individually, the Patriots’ Odell White finished eighth in the boys’ competition with a time of 16:52. Jason Williams of South View was first in 16:04. The Tigers also won the team competition.

Other finishes and times for the Patriots were Jonathan Stone (58th, 18:18), Chris Jefferson (65th, 18:26), Tim Jefferson (66th, 18:26), Grant Karshner (86th, 18:58), Andrew Gardner (108th, 19:26) and Stephen Lewis (112th, 19:29).

Katie Fields was the top finisher for the Patriot girls’ with a time of 20:02, good for seventh overall. Taylor Barr of Carolina Day was first in 19:08. Northwest Guilford won the team competition.

Other Patriot finishers were Ann Fields (11th, 20:49), Minolta Araya (30th, 21:56), Sarah Moore (43rd, 22.34), Jenny Roque (72nd, 23:41) and Amanda Gilbert (74th, 23:49).
