Thirty boys’ and 21 girls’ teams were entered in the event.
Individually, the Patriots’ Odell White finished eighth in the boys’ competition with a time of 16:52. Jason Williams of South View was first in 16:04. The Tigers also won the team competition.
Other finishes and times for the Patriots were Jonathan Stone (58th, 18:18), Chris Jefferson (65th, 18:26), Tim Jefferson (66th, 18:26), Grant Karshner (86th, 18:58), Andrew Gardner (108th, 19:26) and Stephen Lewis (112th, 19:29).
Katie Fields was the top finisher for the Patriot girls’ with a time of 20:02, good for seventh overall. Taylor Barr of Carolina Day was first in 19:08. Northwest Guilford won the team competition.
Other Patriot finishers were Ann Fields (11th, 20:49), Minolta Araya (30th, 21:56), Sarah Moore (43rd, 22.34), Jenny Roque (72nd, 23:41) and Amanda Gilbert (74th, 23:49).
