 Good News in the Mail
Pinehurst Postmaster Denise Krise has delivered to villagers a letter of glad tidings. The downtown post office won’t be closed. Krise received assurance of the continued operation of what is known as Village Station last week from a representative of the U.S. Postal Service. There had been concerns that the Village Station would be closed for budgetary reasons.
The downtown post office, like those in other small towns, has served Pinehurst for many years not only as a place to pick up the mail but also as a village social center. We give our stamp of approval to the Postal Service’s decision to keep it that way.
