Alternative to Circle

Your article about the proposed roundabout in front of the entrance to the Country Club on Midland Road in Pinehurst brought back to me the times I have stood for many minutes trying to exit the club to the left.

However, I have a suggestion that would be much more cost-effective and just as workable. Why not have a traffic cop standing on Midland between the club and hotel entrances? He or she could just be there at high traffic times, or even all day if necessary. This would accomplish a few things: Traffic would move smoothly as drivers moved ahead in order, precious trees would not have to be cut down, those living near the area would not be plagued with months of construction noise and dirt, and it would maintain the character of our village.
