 Birdies, No Bogeys
Birdie: By Rocky Bonsal, the Episcopal Day School’s board chairman, and his fellow trustees for erasing “Interim” from Headmaster Jay St. John’s title. St. John’s children-first mentality meshes well with EDS’ nurturing educational environment. More important, Bonsal’s bold decision keeps St. John in the Sandhills, where he and his family belong. Way to go, Rocky and crew.
Birdie: Dick Stoltis, the plant manager for Ingersoll-Rand in Southern Pines, for celebrating the company’s centennial by bringing such a fascinating traveling exhibit to town last week. The exhibit chronicles the company’s work over the last 100 years. I-R, which has been apart of such major engineering feats from the Hoover Dam to the Panama Canal, has been a part of the Sandhills community for 15 years and employs 200 of our residents. Thanks for the history lesson, Dick. |
