Schools countywide are hosting fall festivals to celebrate the harvest and have some fun. Numerous schools will be putting on festivities this year, and friends and family are all welcome to attend.
Several schools held their festivals this weekend. Here are some of the upcoming events we know about:
n Highfalls Elementary will hold its festival Oct. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. A dinner of hot dogs and barbecue will be provided in the cafeteria. There will be numerous games, and a silent auction that will last until 7:15 p.m.
Highfalls Elementary is at 1220 N.C. 22 in High Falls.
n Aberdeen Elementary will hold its festival Oct. 28 from 5 to 8 p.m., with games and refreshments including hot dogs, chips and candy.
n Carthage Elementary will hold its festival Oct. 28 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The festival will include games in the gym, a 50/50 raffle and a country store.
The festival will feature ornament making, Patsy Blue and the only Wee Rotary Club in the state. Carthage Elementary is located at 312 Rockingham St.
n Episcopal Day School will host an “Awesome Autumn” fall festival Friday, Oct. 28, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the school.
n Southern Pines Primary will hold its festival Oct. 28 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The evening will be filled with games, food, prizes and fun. Southern Pines Primary is at 1250 West New York Avenue.
n Solid Rock Christian School will hold its festival Oct. 28 from 6 to 10 p.m. It includes a hot dog supper, games, a cake walk, a hay-ride and an auction.
Solid Rock Christian School is at 311 Maple St. in Aberdeen.
n Academy Heights Elementary will have its second annual fall auction Friday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. at the National Golf Club.
There will be a live and silent auction. Anyone who has an item to offer can call Shelley Cooper at 603-4677.
n Southern Pines Elementary is hosting a fall festival Friday, Nov. 4, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. For more information, call Michelle Tew at 944-1824.
