Antiques Show Set for Nov. 4
Antique dealers from New York to Florida will fill the Fair Barn in Pinehurst with thousands of items for sale at the 45th Annual Antique Show and Sale Friday, Nov. 4, through Sunday, Nov. 6. The event presents a variety of American and English furniture, painted and English porcelain, linens, pottery, oriental silks, art, cut and elegant glass, Sterling silver, clocks, fine china, jewelry, dolls, and other fine collectibles.
The Antiques Show and Sale, sponsored by the Moore County Historical Association in cooperation with the Village of Pinehurst Parks and Recreation Department, runs Friday and Saturday, Nov. 4 and 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 6, from noon to 5 p.m. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Moore County Historical Association.
In addition to the antique vendors, Barton Crystal Repair of Lancaster, S.C., will be on hand to make repairs on chipped glass and crystal items. Also on hand will be the “Doll Repair Doctor,” Judy Dommergue, of Roswell, Ga. She specializes in all types of doll repair from old to new.
On Thursday, Nov. 3, a special preview party of the Antiques Show and Sale will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the event area. Tickets are $25 per person. The ticket price includes wine, hors d’oeuvres and a private viewing and sale on Thursday evening, and daily show admission. Valet parking will be available.

Admission to the show is $5 for daily admission or $7 for a weekend pass.
The proceeds from the show and preview party go to the Moore County Historical Association. Founded in 1946, it is one of the oldest historical associations in North Carolina and was a pioneer in preserving the history of everyday life. Among the facilities it maintains are the historic properties of the Shaw House, Garner House and Sanders Cabin in Southern Pines and the Bryant House and McLendon Cabin in Carthage. The non-profit Association relies on events and membership contributions to maintain its facilities and programs.
