Dogs Were Safe

The Pilot is to be commended for its excellent coverage of the damage and recovery efforts related to the recent tornado.

I would also like to commend The Pilot for contacting our staff prior to running a rumor-based story. Dogs’ Best Friend did not receive any significant damage from the storm. All of our dogs were brought in early to get them out of the rain and out of harm’s way should any violent storm activity come up. I and the staff at Dogs’ Best Friend are grateful that there were no injuries or loss of life from this storm.

As a result of the storm, Dogs’ Best Friend is moving ahead with several planned improvements. The outdoor exercise area will be enlarged and additional security measures will be installed to ensure the safety of our guests. Renovations to the main entrance and an interior upgrade will be complete by spring 2005.
