Shakespeare Festival Schedules Auditions for Anniversary Season

The North Carolina Shakespeare Festival will hold auditions for its 27th anniversary production of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 18 and 19 from 4 to 6 p.m. at its offices located at 1014 Mill Ave. in High Point.

Auditions will be for Equity and non-Equity actors. NCSF company members have already been cast in the roles of Scrooge, Bob and Mrs. Cratchit, and the Ghosts of Christmas Past and Present. Adults must bring a resume and head shot, and prepare a brief audition piece. Children must be 9 years old or older, bring a photo and prepare to read from the script. Rehearsals begin Tuesday, Nov. 9, with Mondays off and no rehearsal on Thanksgiving Day. Generally, child and non-Equity cast members rehearse primarily in the evenings and on weekends. Performances begin Tuesday, Nov. 30 and run through Dec. 19, with a total of 23 performances including 10 morning school matinees.

To sign-up for auditions, call NCSF during the hours of 9 a.m. to noon, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, at 336-841-2273, extension 229.
