Pinecrest swept top honors in the Southeastern 4-A Conference individual girls’ tennis tournament last week.
Anna Pottle claimed the singles championship, the team of Aimee Wolf and Leah Dew earned the doubles championship and coach Fairley Cameron was named coach of the year.
Pottle, Wolf and Dew were joined by teammates Alison James, Jessica Motsinger and Elizabeth Gingerich in advancing to individual regional competition. The Midwest Regional begins at Pinecrest High School today and continues tomorrow.
The conference coaches selected Pottle as the conference’s player of the year. The coaches also selected Wolf, Motsinger, James and Dew to join Pottle as all-conference players.
“I am very pleased with the success we’ve had this year,” Cameron said. “We are still peaking with each match. Anna, Aimee and Leah played extremely well in being conference champs in singles and doubles. Our other entries made the regionals and played well.”
Pinecrest is 16-0 this season and won the conference’s team championship. The Patriots were scheduled to play in the first round of the dual state team championships Wednesday against Independence High, the number-three seed out of the Southwestern Conference.
