Good Sam Club

The Sandhills Good Sam Club recently enjoyed a beautiful fall weekend at the Shallotte KOA. Clear skies and an almost-full moon were only part of the attractions as members gathered to meet new friends and catch up with old. After a potluck breakfast, most of the members spent the day doing some Christmas shopping in nearby Myrtle Beach. Dinner was enjoyed at a nearby Calabash restaurant. The camping club is comprised of 13 family units from around the Sandhills with the common interest of camping and fellowship. Campouts are held on the second weekend of every month at a campground no further away from the Sandhills than 150 miles. The Dec. 9-11 rally will be in Wade, just north of Fayetteville. The members will hold a Christmas party.

Anyone who is interested in more information about the camping club or joining the club on one of its campouts, may contact Lee Gibbs at 910-904-0956 or Bettie Strickland at 910-893-2295.

Rotary Clubs

People interested in joining a Rotary Club have a high-tech way to make their interest known. Rotary International, the administrative umbrella for local Rotary Clubs worldwide, has placed on its Web site a prospective member form. Interested non-Rotarians can fill out the form and send it electronically to Rotary International, which will in turn send the information to local clubs in the prospect’s area for follow-up. This method allows people who do not have contact with a specific club to connect with a variety of clubs in their area. The form may be accessed at www.rotary.org /membership/prospective/form.
