Pinehurst Civic Group Opens Membership Drive
George Lane, president of the Pinehurst Civic Group (PCG) announced the launch of the 2006 membership drive. All current and former members of the PCG should have recently received their renewal applications in the mail.
Included in this year’s mailing is a copy of the book, “The Pinehurst Civic Group Story, 1977-2005.” This book, authored by Richard E. Bisbe, a current member and former board member of the PCG, contains highlights of the first 28 years of Civic Group efforts, including the many and varied issues that the PCG was involved in, the contributions and donations made by the group and several illustrations of people who have been involved with this organization over the past 28 years.
“Dick Bisbe has done a masterful job of researching, collecting and collating the meaning of the Pinehurst Civic Group,” said Lane. “His work helps us again define the purpose of the PCG, which is to represent the views and values of Pinehurst citizens, protect the beauty and history of the area and enhance the quality of life they represent. Hopefully this effort will help us achieve our membership goal of 1,000 members by the end of 2006.”
Lane added, “I invite all Pinehurst residents to join the PCG. An annual family membership is only $20, a very low investment in our community’s future. We have room for board and committee memberships.”
Co-chairing the membership drive are Jerry Townley and Ginger Lash. All inquires or requests for a membership application should be sent to: Pinehurst Civic Group, P.O. Box 1201, Pinehurst, NC 28370 or e-mail:phcivicgp@connectnc.net. |
