Road to Gomorrah

In response to Steve Bouser’s Oct. 5 column, “Church and State: Let’s not Play with Fire”:

I could not disagree more. You say in your piece that we should not reach for our poison pen before we hear you out, but your piece is a poison pen as far as I am concerned.

The Ten Commandments are as appropriate in the window of a Christian storefront as they are in schools, government buildings, courthouses, et al. I am in agreement with J.D. Zumwalt Jr., “Founders Saw Christian Nation,” Friday, Oct. 21. Every fabric of our society is based on those Ten Commandments. Would you rather walk down the main street of Southern Pines and see a pornography store as opposed to a Christian store? You say you attend church, but God is clearly not in your life.

As far as the books seen in that Christian store window are concerned and with specific respect to the makeup of the Supreme Court, those judges are there to interpret the Constitution and rule based on that interpretation. We must place individuals on that court who will do just that and nothing less and/or attempt to rule based on their personal views. Liberals seem bent on changing history so that all lines are blurred. They do not like rules, boundaries, conditions, traditions, etc.

You may have me at a disadvantage since you are the editor and a skilled writer. I am not a skilled writer but hope you get my point and understand that we Christians will not bend or bow easily to attempts to put us on the road to Gomorrah.

Another constitutional Christian voice.
