LandDesign Firm Plans ‘The Art of Land’ Exhibit

LandDesign is planning a unique party to celebrate “The Art of Land,” an exhibit of photos of urban landscape projects in which the firm takes particular pride.

LandDesign’s Stephanie Powell, a partner in the Southern Pines firm, said her company expects about 100 guests at the Nov. 15 party in the offices at 164 NW Broad Street.

“We have some stunning photos of our projects throughout the country,” Powell said. “We decided to show them off to our clients and friends in a festive atmosphere. It’s our way to thank people for their support and good will.”

Coinciding with the Southern Pines celebration, which starts at 6 p.m., will be similar fetes in other cities where LandDesign maintains offices, including Washington, D.C.; Tampa, Fla.; and Nashville, Tenn.; as well as Charlotte and Asheville in North Carolina.

The photos are of various sizes and mostly black and white. By the dozens, they will grace the hallways and workspaces of the firm’s offices. A preview of the art was included in recently mailed invitations.

The idea for “The Art of Land” exhibit was born in brainstorming sessions by LandDesign’s Leslie Suter and her brand development group.

“The exhibit explores how LandDesign helps a suburb, town or city create environments that are not only livable and sustainable but, through design, truly become works of art,” Suter said.

Clients and friends received several teaser cards earlier this year, each featuring a different LandDesign project.

LandDesign is an urban planning, landscape architecture, and civil engineering firm. It celebrated 25 years in business in 2004. In addition to its presence in the United States, it maintains an office in Beijing, China.
