If you anticipate that problem at your place this holiday season, houseguests overstaying their welcome — or if you just want to assure your visitors a pleasant, relaxing stay — help is close at hand.
Again this year, the “Room at the Inn” program, conceived by The Pilot and Muirfield Broadcasting and embraced by the Convention and Visitors Bureau and the local hospitality industry, makes it possible for folks here to line up accommodations for company at bargain-basement prices from Nov. 18 through Jan. 3.
The program originated as a way to help lodging providers fill empty rooms during the business downturn after 9/11, but it caught on and has become an annual tradition. This year, a record 22 hotels, resorts and condos are taking part in the program by offering rooms at rates as low as $37 a night.
Check out the list of participating entities on the CVB Web site, www.homeofgolf.com/specials/room.htm. Or call CVB at 692-3330. And do it now — while there’s still room in the inn. And before those visitors start to smell.
