Julius A. Blue

Army Sgt. Julius A. Blue has deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom to engage in military operations involving U.S. and coalition forces.

Operation objectives include liberating the Iraqi people; preserving Iraq as a unified state, keeping its territorial integrity intact, and helping the Iraqi people begin the process of economic and political reconstruction. Active duty, reserve, and National Guard members from all branches of the U.S. armed forces are participating in the operation.

The soldier is regularly assigned to one of the various camps and units (infantry, aviation, armor, artillery, engineer, command support, etc.) of the 2nd Infantry Division, Eighth U.S. Army based in South Korea. Soldiers of the 2nd Infantry Division deployed to Iraq either to augment soldiers serving in country or to replace soldiers who had completed their tour of duty.

Blue, a unit supply sergeant, is the son of Toi Y. Blue of Nicholson Road, Cameron, Neb. His father and stepmother are Tyrone Johnson and Johnsse People of Sanford. The sergeant is a 2001 graduate of Lee Senior High School, Sanford.

A’Shaunte T. Harris

Army Pfc. A’Shaunte T. Harris has graduated from the power-generation equipment repairer advanced individual training (AIT) course at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen, Md.

During AIT, the soldier was trained to perform unit direct support or general support maintenance functions on power-generation equipment.

Harris is the daughter of Teresa M. Harris of Sanford, and granddaughter of Mary O. Richardson of Cameron. She is a 2003 graduate of Central Carolina High School.

Mike L. Paulson

Army Staff Sgt. Mike L. Paulson has deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom to engage in military operations involving U.S. and coalition forces.
