Department of Aging Plans Trip, Program

The Moore County Department of Aging is offerin a shopping trip and programs for seniors. For information, call 947-2881.

Shopping Trip

On Thursday, Dec. 2, the bus will leave Pinecrest Plaza at 8:30 a.m., bound for the Streets at Southpoint and a holiday shopping trip. Plans are to return at 5 p.m. The cost for the trip is $19, with lunch on your own.

SeniorCare Signup

Only 16 percent of eligible seniors have signed up for the SeniorCare program that offers $1,200 credit in 2004, and again in 2005, toward prescription drugs to those age 65 and over who are income eligible. Jill Sherman of the Moore County Department of Aging and Moore County’s SHIIP (Senior Health Insurance Information Program) Coordinator, will be at the following locations with information and applications:

  • Wednesday, Nov 17, Southern Pines United Methodist Church, 175 Midland Rd.

  • Thursday, Nov. 18, Moore County Department of Aging, 302 Monroe St., Carthage.

  • Monday, Nov. 22. Davis Community Center, 4799 Hwy. 705, Robbins.

  • Tuesday, Nov. 30, West End Diner’s Club, Von Cannon Dr.

    All programs are at 10 a.m.
