The drive will be held from Dec. 1 through Dec. 13.
Curves, now the largest fitness franchise in the world with over 2 million members and over 6,000 locations, is commited to helping its members achieve their goals through exercise and proper nutrition.
“With hundreds of members in Moore County, we realize that we have a powerful way to help the children of our county have a blessed Christmas,” says Julia Brokmeyer, owner of the Southern Pines facility. “We are hoping that our members will be generous with their giving and will spread the word to their friends. Brokmeyer encourages members to help, but non-members are encouraged to drop off donations at one of the three Curves participating in the drive.
“We are also hoping that all members of the community, whether members of Curves or not, will reach out to those in need and drop off any new toys, books, games and more to one of our three participating locations. We anticipate a huge response.”
During the week of Dec. 1-6, Curves is waiving its service fee to anyone who brings a toy valued at $20 or more and joins their 12-month program.
Brokmeyer asks that the toys be new and unwrapped. Volunteers will then organize and distribute the donations.
