I wish to extend a heartfelt and public “thank you” to Mrs. Charlene Vermeulen and the teachers and students at New Century Middle School.

Dr. Bill Newton, chairman of the Moore County Democratic Party, and I had the honor of representing our respective parties to about 70 students last Friday. I am sure that Dr. Newton would agree that the questions posed by the young people that day proved that they had outstanding teachers. After witnessing their thoughtfulness and good behavior, I indeed have a renewed excitement for future generations. Thanks again to the staff and faculty at New Century Middle School for allowing us the opportunity to talk to your classes. And keep up the good work!
