LITERARY NOTES: Diverse Flavor to Book Fair

Culturas Unidas, a non-profit organization focused on promoting education and the arts, is holding its first Hispanic-American Book and Art Fair to be held Dec 12-14 at the Jim Graham Building, located at the State Fair Grounds, in Raleigh.

This is a great opportunity for multicultural bookstores, publishers, newspapers, illustrators, authors, and artists to promote themselves and their work.

“We particularly invite Christian bookstores to participate and provide mulitlingual Christmas books and other related holiday merchandise,” said a spokesman.

Vendor booths are available at affordable rates, including special rates for non-profit arts organizations to sell or display their merchandise.

If a person or group does not want to reserve a booth, but wishes to participate in the program, there are opportunities for choral groups to participate, slots available for storytelling or book readings, space available for holday crafts and/or scrapbook making, and much more.

There is an open mic for poets, songwriters, and authors and a seminar room for those interested in holding a workshop. Bilingual and minority authors, illustrators, artisans, and artists are encouraged to attend.

For more information on this event call (919) 467-6696.
