Applause to Bush

Speaking today in an apparently hostile Great Britain, our president, George W. Bush, spoke directly to all the critics of the administration’s current course of action against terrorism.

As an American military veteran who served in the Far East, I watched with pride as our leader praised public dissent as a product of the democratic process. He then reaffirmed the American resolve to rid our world of the cowards who prey on innocent civilians as part of their efforts to disrupt peaceful nations.

I felt, therefore, that the so-called cartoon printed in the Nov. 19 issue of The Pilot that showed Mr. Bush hiding under his desk is far out of touch with reality. For your information, the exit strategy for this president is victory over those evil forces that threaten our freedoms and seem to think that sniper attacks and roadside bombings will modify our resolve.

Looking at the ragtag cast of Democratic candidates for the office of the presidency, I firmly believe that the voters will push aside the media spin and reject a policy of international weakness this group seems to espouse.
