At the Aberdeen candidates’ forum, I stated that I would like to see Aberdeen Historic Commission continue as long as it was friendly to the property owners. This was not so in the past.
I expressed support for the highway overlays only if the property owners had more to say about it.
Mr. Lockey should have mentioned the question that was raised about raising taxes. I stated that before I would vote to raise taxes I would want to see where the money was going. Mr. Parker, Mrs. McMurray and Mr. Farrell voted to buy the insurance building beside of the Town Hall. Mr. Davenport and Mr. Hawthorne voted against it. The town has $66,898 dollars of our tax money in this building, which is empty. The town is trying to rent this building. This is your tax money.
