Mary Seawell Wood was the leading vote-getter, with 83 votes, to win one of the two seats open on the board. Tew was second with 49 votes. Charles “Buddy” Robinson was third with 47 votes.
Mayor Mickey Brown was unopposed for re-election, garnering 66 votes.
In Vass, incumbent Commis-sioners Jeff Lassiter and Donald Bridgers and challenger George Blackwell won the three open seats on the Town Board. Seven candidates were running.
Lassiter received 73 votes, according to the unofficial returns. Bridgers had 71, and Blackwell got 69. Among the other candidates, Ruth Klingenschmidt got 64 votes; Russell Jackson, 51; Alphonso Mosley, 25; and Jimmy Pratt, 24.
Mayor Henry Callahan Jr. was unopposed, with 115 votes.
Incumbent Jesse Fuller led the voting among the six candidates running for the five seats on the Taylortown Town Council, with 213 votes. All five incumbents won.
Jeffery Moody was second with 211; Mayor Ulysses Barrett Jr., 198; James Lattimore Thompson, 187; and Lonnie Jones III, 183. Challenger David Levine was sixth with 72 votes.
In Cameron, incumbent Commissioner Michael Thomason was the top vote-getter for the three seats with four-year terms. He received 46 votes. James “Jamie” Oakley was second with 42 votes, and incumbent Mozella Graham was third with 36 votes. Challengers Michael Childress and Billy Wood each had 23 votes.
Sandra Phillips McKinney was unopposed for an unexpired term. She received 47 votes. G.R. “Mack” Womble was unopposed for the unexpired term for mayor. He had 52 votes.
Pinebluff Mayor Earlene McLamb was unopposed for re-election, garnering 100 votes. There were five candidates running for the five seats on the Town Board. Incumbent Jerry Williams led the way with 102 votes, followed by newcomer Sharon Fox with 101. William Garner received 98 votes; incumbent Brenda McCaskill, 97; and incumbent Richard Caton, 96.
In Foxfire Village, George Erickson and Carl Munro were unopposed for two seats on the Village Council. Erickson received 59 votes and Munro had 40. R.W. Peckitt was unopposed for an unexpired term. He received 64 votes.
The Moore County Board of Elections will officially certify the results the municipal elections Friday morning.
