Nancy’s Game

Nancy’s Game meets at the Regency on Morganton, which is just west of Turnberry Wood to the right off Morganton Road. from 15-501 or a left turn right after Lawn & Tennis coming from Rt. 5. The game is ACBL sanctioned and non-smoking, with computer scoring and refreshments. A novice section will always be held if numbers allow. Special Announcement: Starting Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 2:30 pm at the Regency, Dressing will start the Audrey Grant “Play of the Hand” (Diamond series) bridge class. This eight-week session will concentrate on play with a bidding review. This is part 2 of the Audrey Grant series. Text book required. Call Nancy at 295-8871 for more information.

Nancy’s Second Game

This game at Quail Haven is an ACBL sanctioned, Non-Life Master Game restricted to NLMs with 0-500 MPS, non-smoking with refreshments and computer scoring. Swiss Teams are held on the third Friday of each month.

The schedule of games is as follows: Monday, Wednesday and Sunday, open games at 1 p.m., Thursday’s game will start at 6 p.m. with soup & sandwich and bridge at 6:30 p.m.; Tuesday and Friday, open games at 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday at 1 p.m. the game is limited to players with less than 100 master points; Friday mornings at 10 a.m. is the Mentor Program game. On Sunday, a wine and cheese party is included with the game. All games are ACBL sanctioned and non-smoking.Lessons are available for all levels of play. All games this week were Club Appreciation Games earning extra master points.

Special Events

  • Every Tuesday, soup & sandwich at 6 p.m.; bridge will start at 6:30.

  • Singles Bridge every second Saturday at 7 p.m.The next session will be on Nov. 8.

  • Third Saturday Swiss teams will be at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 15. Signup sheet is at the Studio.

  • The mentoring program continues every Friday morning at 10 a.m. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch.

  • On Sunday, Nov. 2., the Sandhills Bridge Studio will celebrate its first anniversary. There will be a reception at noon, followed by a free session of bridge at 1 p.m.

  • The annual SDBPA Christmas Party will be held at the Pinehurst Members Club on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 9:30 a..m. Brunch, bridge & your 2004 dues will be included in the $20 entry. Seating is limited so get your reservation in early. Signup sheets available at the Studio. If you choose not to attend, $5 dues may be sent to a board member or the Studio.
